Technology Project
BK Cohort 3850, Summer Session I, 2004

This is a required project for CI 3850 but may also be used as an artifact in your technology portfolio required for North Carolina licensure. Below are the requirements of the project as well as the rubric. It is highly recommended that you save your work to a floppy disk as a backup after each work session just in case.
Webpage Requirements
We will be using Netscape Composer to create our individual webpages. If you are familiare with other software such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver, please feel free to use it but the assistance available will be limited.
The following items must appear on your personal webpage:

  1. Name
  2. Contact Information
  3. Your picture
  4. Brief statement about yourself
  5. Personal statement of your teaching beliefs
  6. Link to Teacher Beliefs paper
  7. Links to at least 3 of your favorite websites for parents to use and statements why.

Additional items may include:

  1. Link to your resume
  2. Any other work related material

Remember that if you use pictures of children you must have their parents permission to put on the Internet. Pay special attention to background colors and size of fonts. This needs to be readable. The Internet has lots of ideas for backgrounds, music, images, video clips, etc. that you can use. Take your time and have fun!

Relevance, Quantity & Quality of Resources

Resources provided are irrelevant or out of date.

OR

Links are mundane. They lead to information that could be found in a classroom encyclopedia.

There is some connection between the resources and the information needed for parents and families. Some resources don't add anything new or carry information not ordinarily found in a classroom.

Links make excellent use of the Web's timeliness and colorfulness.

Varied resources provide enough meaningful information for students to think deeply
